In my part of the world, NESTING begins in the spring when the birds that have flown south for the winter return and prepare for the birth of their babies.
We also call it NESTING when an expectant human mother gets bursts of energy toward the end of her pregnancy. The end result is a home and nursery that are ready for new life.
So…
What do we call it when we are preparing for a new life in Christ?
Are we seekers?
Are we disciples?
Are we students?
I think it’s all of those. But we are also nest builders when we set a particular time and place to talk with God. Some call it a prayer closet. I think I’ll call it my nest.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. – Matthew 6:6 NIV

To me, it’s more intimate.
